The episode begins at Colham High School, where Mae MacDonald, Louisa McIntyre, Christine Peel, Natasha Sagdiyev and Hannah Johnston are discussing last night's episode of The Only Way is County Genesiscide while the former is texting on her Eyephone. They hang around in one of the corridors; Harry Smith and David Marshall get through by farting at them. Mae drops her phone as the two boys rush past. The bell rings for classes starting - Hannah spots the phone and slips it into her pocket before randomly falling asleep on the floor.

The first lesson is maths. Noticing her phone is missing, Mae rummages through her schoolbag in a panic; Jamie Wallace jokes that she is looking for the value of X in the equation Catriona McMillan is writing on the whiteboard. Everyone roars with laughter before the strict teacher gives Mae a referral for disrupting the class, causing her to become horrendously moody.

At lunchtime Mae confronts Harry, accusing him of stealing her phone earlier and letting out crocodile tears, drawing attention from most of the school! Harry and David dash away with the latter slipping on some stew Colin Naylor spilled on the floor.

The next day, Harry enters the school gates to be met by most of the school booing him! Ella Wolthers interviews him for a report about the issue in the school magazine, to which he insists Mae is lying. However, Ella doesn't believe him as she thinks Mae's version of the events makes a more dramatic and entertaining story! He rages, then Robert Sullivan drags him to his office. As he tries to ask Harry about what happened with Mae's phone, the pupils continue to boo through the open windows. Robert locks him in the meeting room all day to keep him away from his hostile opposition.

After one of his worst school days ever Harry decides to try solving the mystery once and for all. He kicks the door of Mae's shed open, raging at her for spreading her lie to the entire school. Just when he prepares to dump a bucket of fence paint all over the moody girl, she demands him to hand over her Eyephone. This wakes up Hannah, who remembers she picked Mae's phone up yesterday and gives it back to her. Mae is so shocked she freezes for a few minutes; Harry uses this time to phone the school and explain what really happened.

The following day everybody is gathered in front of the school gates to cheer him, waving copies of the latest school magazine with the story of him uncovering the truth on the front page! He receives a merit for one of the first times ever. Meanwhile the pupils toss rotten eggs at Mae, who squeals in anger.
